NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

as i have a full page spread in a high end artist magazine coming out this Spring, i figured i should probably get on the move with some new work. i think last year was more about figuring out what i wanted to do with my art and basically with my art career.  this year i would like to finish at least 10 pieces before the magazine is published as well as find a nice art space to paint in and publish a book of my art by the end of the year.

that doesn't seem like too much, does it?

DIAS DE LOS MUERTOS

I've been trying to make art for one of my favorite holidays, Day of the Dead or Dia de los Muertos. It just doesn't seem to be working out. I wanted to try and make masks that people can wear so I bought a plastic skeleton mask to use as a mold. It looks like it would be easy but every time I try to make one something goes wrong.  I got a few foam skulls to decorate and now everyone wants to decorate one. I am glad it has become something enjoyable for my friends however, I think I might toss out the idea of selling it as art.

I think sticking to my abstracts and the occasional commission work is what is good for me.

Here is a picture of a skull decorated by documentary photographer, AJ Nutter
